Happy Ideas - Cook with my Italian grandma

Updated: May 25, 2020

In this period of lockdown I re-discovered the pleasure of cooking and the satisfaction of eating something you made with your own hands that make you say : wow this is delicious!

Since I moved to Paris I barely had time to prepare a lunch boxe when I have classes at the university. Time is so precious that too often you tend to think that it doesn't deserves to be spent cooking - unless you're a chef, of course. This quarantine has changed our lives deeply and we re-discovered some pleasures and values that we had totally forgotten. I decided to imitate my grandma's tastes, the ones which are so normal for her as part of anchored traditions - I guess it's also because she's Italian!

I'm missing my Italy, my family and friends, Italian tastes and parfumes. Sometimes, food is to me a kind of Madeleine of Proust: it brings me back in time and makes me feel happy.

I hope it will do the same for you, here some recipes for you :)
